The New Zealand Nail Competition was founded in 2015 by Darrell Harris @Enail Couture a visionary who along with Katey Laurenson @Embelishedsupplynz ignited a passion for Nail Art Competitions throughout New Zealand.
Initially held in conjunction with the NZ Hair and Beauty Expo. The NZ Nail Competition has continued to evolve and grow over the years, and in 2021, Darrell passed the torch to two dedicated Competitors & trained Judges, Amanda Viviers and Jerilee Fair.
With over 20 years of combined experience in the competition scene, Amanda and Jerilee are thrilled for the opportunity to team up and solidify New Zealand Nail Comp's place in the creative World of nails.

I throughly enjoyed entering the NZ nail comps. Entering the hand-in sections in five categories I came away with 3 medals! Planning out the designs and understanding the hand-in rules around it was good for me and I was very happy with my entries. I would encourage you to give it a go and put yourself out of your comfort zone, you might surprise yourself... Go for it!

"The first time I decided to enter the NZ Nail Comps -a few years ago! I was pretty scared and apprehensive. Putting your work put there to be judged is a huge deal. I found it to be extremely inspiring, and the comps really pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to improve in all areas of my nail work. It was easy to enroll and communication with the organisers of the NZ Nail Comps was very good. I would encourage any Nail Tech considering entering, new or experienced to give it a go. You never know your talent until you put it to the test "

After going to a couple of the nz hair & beauty expos and seeing all of the entries in the nz nail comps I was so excited (and nervous ) to enter in 2021….I’m so glad I did too!! There’s a heap of different categories to enter in, the organisers were always helpful with any questions I had, and I loved seeing everybody’s entries on the day and their takes on the themes. Placing in all three categories I entered was an absolute bonus of the whole experience and it was cool getting the scoring sheets at the end as well to see where I can make improvements. If anyone has contemplated taking part in next years comps….I would 100% recommend!
